Width, length, leg height, pole height, hemline and fabric colour are each a control rather than a fresh afternoon at a CAD screen. Between them there are thousands of variations, and none of them cost you anything to produce.
That matters most in front of a customer. A conversation that used to end with a promise to send a drawing next week now ends with the tent itself, at the size they asked for, in the colours they chose, turning on the screen between you. The specification is agreed while they are still in the room, and it is agreed against something both of you can see.
Underneath the presentation the geometry is real. The mesh is relaxed, so the curvature on screen is the curvature the fabric will make. Cables, bale rings, lugs and guy lines are modelled as parts rather than as drawn decoration. Two structures can be joined along a picked seam, with twin poles, webbing, fittings and gutter, so a linked range is quoted as confidently as a single unit.
Because the model is honest, it keeps working after the order is won. What you showed the customer is what the workshop makes. There is no second version of the truth, no drawing office reinterpreting a sales image, no discovering in the workshop that the shape you promised was optimistic.
